Border Villages, Armenia - The following gallery is a collection of images from two village communities in Armenia along its closed-border with Turkey.

One village consisted of 11 families while the other was populated with over 1000 residents.

No matter their size, border village communities are critically important to the security of Armenia and to the political stability of the Caucasus region.

By their mere existence, they are the first line of defense against possible aggression from neighboring Turkey. 

The simple lives these village communities represent have become Armenia’s most important weapon in maintaining its borders and territorial integrity.
